Our Mission and Vision
“It is not the honor that you take with you, but the heritage you leave behind.” – Branch Rickey
Heritage Housing Partners Corporation’s mission is “to promote and provide quality affordable housing.” The Vision of HHPCorp is “to be a proactive leader creating vital, accessible and inclusive communities.”
Our Origin
Incorporated as Columbia Interfaith Housing in June, 1967, Heritage Housing Partners Corporation was originally founded by a tripartite league of religious organizations that included the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore, the Combined Ministries (a Protestant association), and the Jewish Council of Howard County. In 1978 Howard County community representatives replaced the faith based governing body but still continued with the same mission of providing affordable housing for low and moderate-income residents of Howard County. At that time the name changed to Columbia Housing Corporation (CHC). In February, 2016, the name was changed to Heritage Housing Partners Corporation (HHP Corp). The new name pays homage to the significance of the organization’s past but better positions it for moving forward in to the future. A future focused on owning, developing and managing properties for the elderly and the disabled in Howard County and beyond.
